Meet Brut, the collection created by Konstantin Grcic: drawing inspiration from the industrial use of cast iron, a material mainly used with bridge building and heavy machinery. The robust structure of the Brut tables sits easily with a variety of table top materials along with the wooden bench-seats. There are fixed and trestle leg options and also a circular table which works beautifully both indoors and out.
Konstantin Grcic (b. 1965) trained as a cabinet maker a the John Makepeace School in London before studying design at the Royal College of Art. Setting up his own studio in 1991, his work incarnates this duel heritage: a highly refined industrial eye combined with respect for the maker’s craft. Based in Berlin, he has designed furniture, lighting and objects for brands including Magis, Flos, Cassina and Classicon.
Magis prides itself on a wide-ranging catalogue of products that span from the aesthetically pure to the stylistically expressive. This deliberate eclecticism allows the brand to constantly push at the parameters of design.
