Seating / Benches / Traffic Bench

Soft, geometrical volumes, with fabric or leather covering, supported on slender, metallised painted metal rod frames: this is the starting point from which Traffic developed.

This complete collection of upholstery combines simplicity with refinement, and uses colour as a multifarious and expressive language. Playing on different proportions, the basic concept of Traffic is elaborated in a number of different forms: an armchair, a two-seater and three-seater sofa, a bench in two versions, a chaise longue and an island.

The collection has expanded further to include two low tables, one large, one small, and a high table, again with a metal rod frame, but with a top in artificial stone, adding another tactile sensation to the home and contract scenario.

The platform is available in several frame and upholstery versions.

Konstantin Grcic (b. 1965) trained as a cabinet maker a the John Makepeace School in London before studying design at the Royal College of Art. Setting up his own studio in 1991, his work incarnates this duel heritage: a highly refined industrial eye combined with respect for the maker’s craft. Based in Berlin, he has designed furniture, lighting and objects for brands including Magis, Flos, Cassina and Classicon.

Magis prides itself on a wide-ranging catalogue of products that span from the aesthetically pure to the stylistically expressive. This deliberate eclecticism allows the brand to constantly push at the parameters of design.
